BT were granted approval on 9/12/2009 for the erection of 60m anemometer masts on the two sites, which took place during September 2010. (updated 23 Feb 2011)
Park Head - RES

Planning officers had requested further details from RES on a number of matters before the application could be considered and that once received there would be further consultation. However, in December 2010 RES(UK) appealed against Northumberland County Council's non-determination of their application to build 9 turbines up to 127m in height on land around Rayburn Lake, Park Head farm, near Netherwitton and Wingates. The application was formally rejected by NCC in January 2011 so the application now goes to a public inquiry. We expect this to take place this spring. This will be a time consuming and costly process so it is now more important than ever that everyone is involved. The planning officers' recommendation to refuse permission summarizes a range of objections from statutory consultees. Our case has since been strengthened further by an objection from Northumberland National Park Authority who conclude that the development "would have a significant negative impact on a nationally important landscape". Following their appeal, RES have submitted the requested documentation which had previously delayed NCC's consideration of the application. This is available on the Northumberland planning website as documents 45-83. See our press page for further details of these developments.

View Law, Energy4All
Another wind farm proposal has been announced in our area.
The organisation behind the proposal is Energy4All. Briefly the proposal is for a site at View Law c 1.5km from Longhorsley. The current plan is for two 120m turbines with an installed capacity of 5MW. The proposal is for it to be a community wind co-operative. A presentation has been made by Energy4All at Longhorsley village hall. The proposal has been called View Law Community Wind Co-operative. See more details on
www.energy4all.co.uk We have been contacted by this company to advise us of the proposal. They did say "we would not consider pushing a site if the community were not co-operative." Please make your feelings known either by contacting paul@energy4all.co.uk or contact ourselves and we will pass your views on. This is a slightly different approach to funding and operating a wind farm but it adds even further to the cumulative effect.
Make your feelings known now before we are faced with yet another planning application.
